A PROUD JOURNEY OF INNOVATION AND EXPERTISE
It all began in Sydney, Australia in 1993 when OEM founder James McLeod and his team applied their application expertise to develop a computer controlled mobile manufacturing system for use by ICI Explosives (Orica) in the expanding minerals sector. Now used worldwide, this innovative system allows all stages of the explosives manufacturing process, from blast design through to product formulation and delivery, to be carried out accurately, efficiently and safely in situ.
Today OEM operates internationally and boasts a continuous line of successful projects throughout the world – an indication of OEM’s tremendous evolution, which has always been rooted in a “tradition of innovation.”

Our technical expertise and experience has been honed across 20 years in a range of industries. With an eye to the future, OEM today uses the skills and technologies we have developed in a variety of applications to design and build wireless control and monitoring systems for use across a range of global rail, transportation and industrial sectors.
OEM designs and builds systems that control or monitor a range of essential subsystems such as video surveillance, passenger information, driver advice, speed measurement, air conditioning, door control, sanitary and lighting. The operating environment for these systems is harsh so OEM delivers solutions that are rugged, compact and designed to comply with the standard EN50155 as well achieve more demanding Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) from SIL1 to SIL4. Many OEM solutions have also been networked with traditional fieldbuses utilising cellular, wireless and cloud based communications.
Since our first project monitoring explosives delivery for ICI, OEM has evolved a heritage of developing monitoring and control systems for a range of functions in buses, trucks and other commercial vehicles and related applications. From complex electronic and communications systems on public transport vehicles around the world, to a system to regulate school zone speed limiting signs in NSW, to remote condition monitoring for a fleet of rental forklifts, OEM has developed a range of robust, cost effective monitoring and control solutions that have satisfied customer requirements for effectiveness, reliability and accuracy.
During the past 20 years OEM Technology Solutions has developed solutions for a wide variety of industrial control and monitoring applications. Using our own in-house designed and manufactured devices, OEM has designed and developed technology solutions for the harshest environments, even capable of withstanding operating temperatures from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. Remote monitoring stations using renewable energy sources, remote gas monitoring systems utilising the 3G network and a compressor monitoring system installed in an offshore oil rig of the West Australian coast all rely on the precision, innovation and reliability of OEM developed solutions.
